Groundbreaking Ceremony HeldA groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 4th at 10:00 AM to commemorate the start of the building project. Several current and former school officials, politicians, and guests were on hand for the occasion. With the temperature outside hovering in the teens, it was decided to start the event in the HS Library with welcoming comments from District Superintendent Mr. John O'Connor. Mr. O'Connor also took the opportunity to thank those associated with the project. "There are many people who have dedicated a great deal of their time to assure this moment would one day arrive. Most importantly, I would like to thank the voters of the Forestville Central School District for their overwhelming support by granting us the approval to move ahead with this project. Your willingness to support this project will have a positive impact on our school community for years to come. We are thrilled to be breaking ground today and to be building for the future."After Mr. O'Connor's comments, those in attendance were invited outside the school to take part in a group photo near the construction site by the Bell Tower. After the brief photo shoot, everyone gathered back in the Library for refreshments, to see prints of the projects and speak with the architect, and browse through yearbooks showing projects of the past. Those in attendance were very excited about the future of our school, and the wonderful opportunities it will have for our students and community.
