Welcome to the Office of the Superintendent
Dear Forestville Community,
I am delighted to welcome you all to the 2024-2025 school year!
This summer, our facilities staff have been hard at work, ensuring that our grounds and buildings are in excellent condition to begin the new school year. With the major construction projects completed last summer, we’ve had the opportunity this year to focus on additional cosmetic enhancements, including fresh paint and extra cleaning, to provide our students and staff with an inviting and inspiring environment. Additionally, the successful approval of an $8.5 million project during our May vote means that planning for the approved work will commence this year, with construction set to begin in the spring/summer of 2026.
Our teachers have been equally diligent, participating in professional development events throughout the summer. This marks the second and final year of our elementary teachers’ intensive training in the science of teaching reading, a program that reflects our commitment to providing the highest quality education for our students. At the middle/high school, we have thoroughly reviewed the student handbook, code of conduct, and safety plan to ensure that everyone is aligned on expectations, safety protocols, and our overall school culture. This review process allows us to identify any areas that may need updating or clarification, ensuring that all information is clear, concise, and easily accessible to students, staff, and parents.
Our principals have been actively recruiting and welcoming new faculty and staff members, and we’re excited to introduce these talented individuals to you. While most new hires are filling existing positions, we’re happy to announce the addition of a social worker to our team. This individual will not only provide essential support to our students but will also serve as a vital link between our families and the school district, strengthening our community connections.
As we embark on this new academic year, I want to highlight the significance of your feedback and involvement in our school community's success. I am grateful for your continued support, which has led to our school budget passing with an impressive 80% approval rating. Your voices matter, and I encourage you to share any thoughts, questions, or suggestions you may have—your input is invaluable. By collaborating, we can ensure that this school year is both exciting and successful for everyone involved.
Once again, I extend my warmest welcome to each student, family, faculty member, and staff as we begin the 2024-2025 school year here at Forestville.
