    Dear Forestville Community,

I am excited to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! The start of each year is always filled with anticipation and opportunity, and I am confident this one will be no exception. Over the summer, our facilities team worked diligently to ensure our buildings and grounds are ready for students and staff. Their dedication has kept our schools clean, safe, and inviting, providing a positive environment for learning as we are preparing to launch our upcoming capital project work at the end of this school year.  For additional information on the project visit our website at www.forestville.com

Our teachers and staff have also been hard at work, engaging in professional development to strengthen their practice and bring fresh ideas into their classrooms. In addition, we welcomed new faculty and staff who bring enthusiasm and talent to our district. We are proud to introduce:

    • PreK–12 Music/Chorus: Sarah Pearson
    • Library: Elizabeth Barter
    • Science: Luke DiFato
    • Special Education: Savannah Clear
    • Bus Driver: Marv Cummings

We fully understand that there are times when students need to be out of school — and at the same time, we know that regular attendance plays a meaningful role in supporting students’ learning, confidence, and connection with their classmates. This year, we are placing a strong emphasis on improving student attendance, because every day in school matters—for both our students and our community. When students are present, they not only build essential skills and confidence, but they also contribute to the energy and connections that make our classrooms and activities thrive. Attendance is more than just showing up; it’s a shared commitment among students, families, and staff to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. By working together, we can make sure that every day counts.

As we move into this new school year, I want to thank our families and community for their continued trust and support. Your partnership plays an essential role in the success of our students. Together, we have built a strong foundation that allows our students to thrive both academically and personally. I encourage you to remain engaged, share your feedback, and celebrate the many accomplishments of our students and staff throughout the year.

On behalf of the Forestville Board of Education and our entire faculty and staff, I extend a warm welcome to all students and families. Let us embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead with optimism, determination, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Wishing you a wonderful start to the school year!

    Sincerely,
    Dr. John O’Connor
